Compare the ways to work together
Website and SEO services for contractors.
I create new websites, redesign existing ones, and improve website content and SEO. Planning, writing, design, and build work can be part of your project. Tell me what you need help with—even if you are not sure which service to choose.
Search research and agreed content and technical improvements.
Discuss your current site and the problem before choosing the work.
What you can hire me to do.
A website project creates or replaces the site. SEO improves how existing pages support relevant searches. You may need both; I explain the work and costs for each.

| Decision | Website design or rebuild | SEO engagement |
|---|---|---|
| Best fit | The current website is missing, outdated, difficult to manage, poorly structured, or no longer aligned with the work you want. | The website exists, but search demand, page coverage, local visibility, content, or measurement need sustained improvement. |
| Starting point | Your services, customers, work examples, service area, content, and any existing website. | Current pages and search data, relevant searches, competitors, technical issues, and contact options. |
| Primary output | The agreed pages, writing, design, responsive build, and launch checks. | An explained work plan and the agreed page, content, link, technical, and measurement improvements. |
| Relationship | A defined project with planning, approvals, build, launch, and handoff phases. | A defined initial plan followed by agreed implementation, review, and reprioritization. |
Understand the work, costs, and responsibilities.
The proposal explains the pages, writing, design, features, review points, and work I will complete. It also identifies what I need from you, platform and recurring costs, and the access and handoff arrangements.
My primary focus is project-based contractors. I also consider other good-fit website and SEO projects, including Vermont businesses, and offer a distinct website service for KJV-only churches. I do not take on website or SEO work for HVAC, electrical, or plumbing businesses. Explore website design and SEO for other businesses →
What will you receive? The proposal lists the pages, writing, features, and checks for your project.
What will you supply? Your business facts, project information, photographs, reviews, and feedback.
What affects the price? Page count, writing, features, design, existing-site changes, and platform costs.
What comes afterward? We distinguish launch and handoff from ongoing SEO, content, or updates.
Discuss, plan, create, and review.
Start with the business and what you need help with. You do not need a technical brief before getting in touch.

A direction
I explain the website or SEO work that addresses the needs we identify.
The project
The proposal sets out the work, inputs, costs, review points, and responsibilities.
Build or improve
I complete the agreed work, review it with you, and carry out the relevant checks.
Before you choose a direction.
These are the questions that usually determine whether a website project, an SEO engagement, or a smaller diagnostic step makes sense.
Do I need a new website before starting SEO?
Not always. I review whether your current platform, pages, mobile experience, and search settings support the improvements needed. If they do, improving the existing site may be more appropriate than replacing it.
Can website design and SEO be combined?
Yes. Search research, page planning, writing, metadata, links, and technical checks can be included in a website project. Ongoing SEO is separate from the initial build, with its own agreed work and costs.
Can you write the website content?
Yes. Content planning and writing can be included. The proposal identifies which pages I will write and the business facts, photographs, and reviews I need from you. You review the information before publication.
How much will the work cost?
I price the work around the project. Pages, writing, features, design, existing-site changes, and platform requirements affect the cost. Share what you need so I can outline the work and explain project and recurring costs.
What do you need help with?
Tell me about your business, service area, and website—if you have one. Describe the problem or goal; we can discuss which work makes sense.
